OLED World best company, Samsung SMD unveiled OLED Lighting at SID 2009. Samsung SMD, which is producing various OLED products from 2001 PMOLED to recent AMOLED as well, buckled their business to OLED Lighting development since 2009.

PMOLED dropped its business value dramatically with the sudden low cost of TFT-LCD before they reach a goal.

After the OLED division in Samsung SDI moved to Samsung SMD, Samsung SMD centered around Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) in kiheung, embarks upon an OLED Lighting development.

 

Jung Ho-kyun,, who led the OLED development since he was in Samsung SDI as a vice president, commands the Samsung SMD OLED Lighting development. Researchers are organized with the greatest collection of OLED experts in the world who achieved a PMOLED commercialization.

 

Samsung SMD presents two OLED Lightings, size of 200 mm x 200 mm and seven OLED Lightings, size of 150 mm x 50 mm. The lighting area of OLED Lighitng, size of 200 mm x 200 mm is 170 mm x 170 mm and its uniformity is up to 90% at 3,000 nit brightness. The lighting area of OLED Lighting, size of 150 mm x 50 mm is 124 mm x 36 mm and its optical properties are same as the OLED lighting, size of 200 mm x 200 mm.
