Rohm¡¯s flexible OLED lighting is 0.3mm thick, which is one sixth thinner than conventional OLED products, and weighs 0.05g/cm2, one eighth of existing OLED products. The product presented a new design of lighting that is bendable and has a 25mm radius, taking advantage of the properties of OLED. At the exhibition, Rohm explained that flexible OLED lighting can be used for thin, bendable lighting products, light lighting for airplane interior, automobile interior lighting, indoor lighting, accessories, etc.
Nippon Electric Glass, a Japanese manufacturer of glass for display substrates, exhibited the world¡¯s slimmest OLED lighting using a 100¥ìm-thick ultra-slim glass substrate at FPD Int¡¯l 2009.
The lighting has high-level gas barrier properties and is slim-type which enables it to be easily bent.
