Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials announced on December 20 that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) for technological cooperation for development and early commercialization of OLED lighting technology.
In cooperation with the KITECH, Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials plans to develop white phosphorescent material featuring high efficiency and long lifetime that can be applicable to OLED surface lighting. The KITECH intends to develop and commercialize lighting panel technology using Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials¡¯ materials. The two organizations will cooperate closely to develop OLED lighting panel by sharing OLED vapor deposition and test equipment and securing smooth supply of materials. They will also work together to improve reliability of mass production and price competitiveness to differentiate their OLED lighting technology from LED lighting.
Hak-chul Kim, CEO and President of Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials, said, ¡°In order to enter the OLED lighting market which is expected to grow rapidly, we will continue to invest in equipment and workforce to make our business successful.¡± Kyeong-hwan Na, head of the KITECH, said, ¡°We expect to contribute to the development of the Korean industry by realizing the early commercialization of OLED lighting through close cooperation with Doosan Corporation Electro-Materials.¡±
